Privacy Policy

(Note: As of June 2018 I am no longer working as a freelance web developer and digital marketer. If you are a past client concerned about the data I may be holding, please get in touch.)

My services

Until June 2018 I worked as a freelance web developer, building websites (primarily with WordPress), offering ongoing web maintenance and also offering digital marketing support. This privacy policy applies to any information collected when you use this website, but also for past clients who I worked with for web development and web maintenance services, as well as digital marketing services.

User personal information

Any personal information that you may provide through this website (via the contact form, hire form or email) will never be passed on, sold or in any way distributed or publicised without your consent, unless requested by law.

Information that this website collects

This site only collects personal information for the following reasons:

  • Visitor tracking: This site uses Google Analytics to monitor web traffic and interaction, in order to better understand who is using this site and how they are interacting. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. You can choose to disable cookies from within your web browser if you wish.
  • Contact, hire form and email: Any information provided in the contact and hire forms is sent directly to me via email. The information you provide in these forms and over email is used solely to provide you with the service you have requested or to respond to the enquiry that you have sent. I will only retain the information that is necessary in order to provide the service requested. This will include basic contact information and credentials (for example web hosting and domain registrar log-in details).

Third-party data processors

In some circumstances, in order to provide the best possible service, I use third-party services to process some user data. To the best of my understanding all providers comply with current GDPR legislation. Below are the current third-party data processors that I use:

  • Google (website and database backup data is stored on Google Drive)

Information shared publicly

I may publicly display some of my client work here on my portfolio, and this is only done via mutual agreement.

Security

I have taken and will take every reasonable measure to ensure that your information remains safe. This also includes the security of your website (where developed / maintained by me), however I strongly recommend you also take steps to ensure the continued security of your site such as setting up Two Step Authentication and strengthening your account passwords.

Data Breaches

Upon any unlawful data breach of the information held within this website and its database or of any of our third-party data processors, I will report to any relevant people and authorities within 72hrs of the breach if it is clear that personal data is likely to have been stolen.

Your right to your data

At any time, you have a right to ask for any information I hold about you, as well as asking me to completely remove any information I am currently holding about you. Please note that in doing so this means I may no longer be able to provide you with the service you may be currently receiving from me. To ask for this information removed, please fill out the contact form and specify what information you would like, or would like removed. Please also note that I will need to carry out some checks to make sure you are who you say you are, again to comply with current legislation.

Privacy Policy Changes

This privacy policy may change from time to time to keep in line with current policies. Please check back occasionally to keep up with any policy changes as I will not explicitly inform clients or website users of any such changes.
